![]() The only strictly first person games I’ve ever enjoyed at Half-Life 2, Metro 2033, Portal 1 and Portal 2. Changing camera perspective should also mean changes to other combat and control systems, unless they want to be Bethesda and have both 1st and 3rd person feel at least a bit janky. Dunno how feasible such a big alteration is at this point though. With all that MS money maybe they can change things. I've been hitting that point hard on the Obsidian forum.Ī big reason to go 1st person (aside from simply a creative choice) is budget constraints. ![]() The "reboot" was driven entirely by abandoning the initial concept of the game being a multiplayer game to now being a single-player focused game.īut having said all that, I agree with you that the game being exclusively first-person would be a deal-breaker for me. They have also said that although the gameworld will be very large the game is not open world, and rather will be a story-driven game. I just don’t enjoy that style.Obsidian has specifically said the most recent trailer video does not represent what the game will look and feel like as it uses pre-alpha footage. 1st person only is almost always a deal breaker for me. I’d be more on board with all of that if it had the option to play in third person. I hope it’s more like a PoE game from a first person perspective set in an open world built like Skyrim… but it’s probably just going to be fantasy Outer Worlds. I'll wait to see though, I'm always up for more good games. The first trailer for Avowed a few years back was so cool. ![]() ![]() Combat seems Skyrim-esk but worse if that's possible, graphics seem.off somehow? And the writing seems a bit too wheedon-esk for my tastes. I hadn't seen anything about Avowed, but having just watched a trailer, ehh.not digging the vibes I'm getting at all. ![]()
